Good Apple Info Snapshot:
An exceptional cider apple, or so we’re told! We consider this a specialty apple, suited specifically to cider growers.
Good Apple Info Difficulty Rating:
Medium.
This is perhaps the one variety listed as very susceptible or no resistance to fireblight, we’re growing. As we always recommend, your willingness to work with a tree, and the value of what the tree offers, should always be the deciding factor on what you grow. And who knows, by the time the trees reach maturity, maybe they’ll figure out an organic, natural way to defeat fireblight!
Tree Habit:
Moderately vigorous, spreading, and large. It is highly productive, but like most cider apples, biennial tending unless pruned and thinned.
Apple Color:
Yellow apple that is burnished with a fine russet.

Small.

Full bittersweet – rich, aromatic, high tannin and high sugar juice that is suitable for a single-variety cider.
- Remember this is a straight up cider apple. Cider apples are traditionally way too bitter to eat off the tree. Don’t even try! 🙂

Late
Ripe:
Late October
