Popular Victorian England apple. More susceptible to fireblight, so it’s not a tree we typically recommend and only have stock after someone specifically requests it. However, it’s an excellent apple and not a difficult tree to grow outside of the fireblight risk.

Hard. TRIPLOID ALERT: This variety needs two other varieties with an appropriate bloom time, for full pollenization.

Slow to bear, but very vigorous and reliably productive. Spreading habit.

Striking combination of various shades of red, orange, yellow, brown, with white and russet lenticels at the stem.

History:
Ribston Hall, Yorkshire, England in 1688. By the 1800s Ribston Pippin had become a favorite variety in England, but in the second half of the century it was pushed from the spotlight by it’s child, the renowned, Cox Orange Pippin.

Good, 2 months.
Uses:
Fresh eating, cider, baking. Apples of Uncommon Character notes, “a bone-dry, lemony, gaunt, hard cider” that is high in sugar and acid.
